Corporate sponsorships generosity helps to support kiwi conservation. Find out how your business can help.

BNZ is also an active partner in the community through national sponsorships and a range of regional and local groups and activities.
The 2002 establishment of the BNZ Save the Kiwi Trust built on 11 years of support for kiwi recovery and demonstrated BNZ’s ongoing commitment to New Zealand’s national bird.
That commitment includes more than NZ$7 million to fund community projects and research, and includes:
- Full administrative and promotional cover for the Trust.
- A line of products dedicated to kiwi, including an EFTPOS card and cheque book, with 100% of contributions going to the Trust.
- An annual marketing and fundraising campaign to raise awareness about kiwi, and increase sales of the EFTPOS card and cheque book.
- Market research and similar activities to monitor public awareness about the plight of kiwi.
More than money
BNZ’s commitment to kiwi extends well beyond financial assistance. Staff and customers volunteer for on-the-ground kiwi work, including releasing BNZ Operation Nest Egg™ chicks and monitoring nests.
BNZ is committed to working with the Trust to raise public awareness of the threats kiwi face, and to raise funds to continue to develop the work of BNZ Save the Kiwi.

Male kiwi are extremely territorial, strong and often bad tempered. Fights involve high jumps, slashing blows, kicks and tears using their powerful legs and feet, and razor-sharp claws. Wounds can be fatal.
