The purpose of this website is to provide a one-stop shop of information about the kiwi,
New Zealand’s wonderful and unique national icon.

It is managed by the Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Trust as part of its role in raising awareness about kiwi, the threats the species face and what is being done through Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery to ensure their ongoing survival on mainland New Zealand.

The Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Trust is also responsible for:

Education programmes, such as the Kiwi Classroom

Co-ordinating national fundraising and sponsorships

Allocating funding for planned Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery initiatives.  These are in the Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Plan, developed by the Department of Conservation.

We particularly hope that New Zealanders working to help save kiwi will find this site a useful source of information to help them in their efforts.  The Information Toolkit is not a static resource and we hope that it will develop and grow in response to needs.
