Bridget O’Shannessey is Bank of New Zealand’s General Manager, People, Culture and Corporate Relations.  She became a Trustee for Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust in late 2006, and replaces Shona Bishop.
 
Bridget joined Bank of New Zealand in May 2004 as General Manager, People & Culture.  In December  2006, her role was expanded to include the Bank’s Corporate Relations functions which encompass all of the Bank’s internal and external communications, public relations, sponsorship, and corporate affairs.

In her new pivotal role, Bridget has responsibility for leading a large department and driving a high performance culture through the Bank’s human resource and communication strategy; employee recruitment and retention; employee engagement and development; ensuring the Bank’s communications are aligned with its cultural direction; and leading corporate social responsibility.

Before joining Bank of New Zealand, Bridget was the Human Resources Director at Hewlett Packard, where she led the historic merger of Hewlett Packard and Compaq Computers in New Zealand.  Bridget has also worked in the human resources division at Carter Holt Harvey.
 
 In addition to her key involvement with Save the Kiwi Trust, Bridget is also a Trustee for Bank of New Zealand’s sponsorship of Preventing Violence in the Home
