The following terms and conditions apply to all community-based kiwi conservation groups, universities and/or recognised research facilities that receive funding from the Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust. They are part of a formal ‘Letter of Agreement’ between the Trust and the funded organisation.
The terms and conditions are:
1. The funding provided may only be applied to the project specified within the funding application and approved by the Trust.
2. The funded project must be referred to, both verbally and in writing, as an initiative being carried out in association with Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi.
3. The support of the Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust must be acknowledged in all appropriate organisational publications, such as: annual reports, website pages, brochures, or any other publications where a list of sponsors, donors, and/or supporters could be reasonably expected to appear.
4. If required by the Trust, the funded organisation will display appropriate signs in association with the project, detailing the support of the Trust and the project’s association with Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi. Any such signs will be provided by the Trust at the Trust’s expense.
5. The funded organisation will provide reasonable access to the project as requested by the Trust’s executive director, Trustees and/or Department of Conservation’s Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi's national co-ordinators, or their representatives.
6. The Trust may, in consultation with the funded organisation, organise media and/or other official Trust events at the project site. The Trust may also, from time-to-time and in consultation with the funded organisation, issue media releases related to the project.
7. The Trust will refund to the funded organisation, expenses related to the project up to the level of the approved funding specified in the Letter of Agreement. The funded organisation will provide the Trust with a tax invoice for these expenses, plus appropriate documentation to support its claim, including copies of all relevant receipts.
8. All invoices for expenses referred to in Item 7 must be provided to the Trust no later than 30 September in the same calendar year in which the funding period ended. Any funds remaining unclaimed after this date will be returned to the Trust’s funding reserves for use in future years.
9. The funded organisation will provide to the Trust an interim progress report on the project no later than 1 December in the financial year for which funding is provided, and a final report no later than 1 May in the financial year for which funding is provided.
